Jura is a limestone in the Bavarian national park Altmühltal. The stone is quarried through a series of 25 layers providing a wide variety of colour and texture.

The geology of the stone dates back to the Jurassic Period of approximately 140 million years ago. The stone contains evidence of prehistoric flora and fauna which contributes to the rich characteristics of this type of limestone.
